Our Agenda
The Latino Policy Forum provides analysis with a Latino Perspective and convenes sectors of the community to engage in the policy debate and advocacy activities on issues critical to the region.  Our work currently focuses on early childhood education, housing issues that address affordability, accessibility and equity, and immigration reform which supports the integration of immigrants into the social, economic, and political fabric of the U.S.

Program Goals
  • Close the educational gap of Latino children by promoting policies that improve access to and the quality of early childhood education programs.
  • Develop effective policies and practices to address the issue of housing affordability and accessibility that affect many Latinos and other communities across the region.
  • Advocate for immigration reform that provides an opportunity for many hard working immigrants to obtain legal permanent residence, promotes family reunification, manages the future flow of immigrants legally and responsibly, and includes programs to ensure the successful integration of immigrants in their new communities.
Advocacy Strategies
  • Research and Information - producing and disseminating studies, reports, white papers, position statements, and policy analysis and proposals
  • Advocacy and Leadership - training and engaging Latinos in advocacy at local, state, and national levels and bringing the perspective of Latinos to policy-making processes and circles.
  • Alliance Building - working in partnership or coalition with non-Latino groups to advance common agendas
