Development Manager

The Latino Policy Forum is a Chicago-based policy and advocacy nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the power, influence, and leadership of the Latino community and ensuring the well-being of Latinos and society as a whole throughout Illinois. The Forum's goals include focusing efforts on improving education, housing, immigration and strengthening leadership for Illinois' Latino communities.

Summary:  The Forum seeks a Development Manager to lead its efforts to increase its donor base in all areas – individual, corporate, and foundations. This position requires a candidate to be highly self-motivated, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, have excellent communication skills, and be an effective member of the development team.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Development Manager develops, coordinates, and implements the Forum’s donor development and events activities. The Development Manager also creates and executes an annual fund development plan detailing goals and strategies to support the Forum’s annual $1.7 million annual revenue goal.

Qualifications

B.A.  Minimum of five years of experience in fund-raising work; bi-lingual and nonprofit and/or work in the Latino community are a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with a public policy background or who demonstrate a keen understanding of the public policy sector and its broader impact. Superior communications and interpersonal skills. Experience with institutions, foundations, and community leaders individually and in groups. Technologically skilled; experience with all Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with donor databases, preferably Salesforce.
