Erika Méndez

Education Policy Analyst

Erika joined the forum to advance policy supports for early childhood education and early intervention supports (including but not limited to Infant Mental Health and Home Visiting). She also manages the Education Acuerdo to build policy making capacity across Latino communities. Through this work, Erika will develop resources to inform and draw awareness to the gaps in opportunities Latino children encounter beginning in early childhood.

Erika earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Michigan. Prior to the forum, Erika conducted research for the Contexts for Academic and Social Adjustment (CASA) Research laboratory at the University of Michigan. Additionally, Erika was a Family Resource Specialist for Illinois Action for Children under the Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) and worked heavily with the Equity Department at the School District of Beloit.
