| BUILDING ACUERDOS, BUILDING COMMUNITIES: The Latino Policy Forum builds the policy-making and advocacy capacity of Latino organizations and leaders through work groups called Acuerdos. (Acuerdo is the Spanish word meaning mutual understanding, agreement, and accord.) Acuerdos have one very fundamental and important function: to work together to develop a common advocacy agenda. BUDGETING FOR RESULTS: On December 14, nearly 60 Latino nonprofit leaders attended a workshop sponsored by the Illinois Latino Family Commission and the Latino Policy Forum to learn more about Budgeting for Results, a fiscal framework that creates a stronger link between state spending and the achievement of programmatic results and outcomes.
