The Latino Policy Forum’s second annual policy breakfast, “Latinos: The Deciding Vote,” engaged local elected officials and nationally-recognized pundits in dialogue on the emerging power of this complex voting block. The breakfast featured a keynote from Dr. Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, senior analyst for Latino Decisions, the nation’s premier Latino political polling organization, and a fellow at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. In a panel discussion facilitated by Greg Hinz, columnist for Crain’s Chicago Business, two Illinois Senators—Senate President John Cullerton (D – 6th District) and Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R – 41st District)—provided a bi-partisan, state-level perspective on the emerging political clout of the Latino community.
