Manny Gonzales

Communications Manager

Manny manages communications for the Latino Policy Forum. His work involves media relations, internal communications and enhancing the Forum’s digital reach.

He has been recognized with numerous awards as a writer for daily newspapers in Denver, Seattle and San Antonio. In addition, he has been a frequent contributor to Fox News Latino and OYE Magazine.

His experience in the political arena and nonprofit and government sectors is extensive. He has provided communication and media relations support for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Convention, helped labor unions defeat Right-to-Work in Colorado and served as a Latino community organizer and public affairs specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce for the 2010 Census. He has also conducted media relations for the Colorado Health Foundation and marketing and event planning for veterans and tech and aerospace programs for the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.

Upon moving to Chicago, Manny has worked with environmental groups across the state as a media relations manager at the Environmental Law & Policy Center, and led communications for the Center for Neighborhood Technology’s efforts to make cities across America run more sustainably, tackle poverty and resist climate change.

Manny joined the Forum in 2016 and is responsible for expanding the Forum’s visibility and promoting its mission of informing, educating and empowering the Latino community.
