Qoc’avib dedicates himself to serving the Latino community on several fronts. On the local level, he addresses issues of racism and discrimination in the city of Aurora. He's the youngest city commissioner on the Human Relations Commission and mentors teenagers in the anti-gang initiative Boys 2 Men Inc. On a national level, Qoc'avib served as a Lideres Summit staff member with the National Council of La Raza and empowered young men in college through the oldest Latino cultural organization, Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity Inc. Internationally, Qoc'avib has organized fundraisers, volunteered with women’s rights groups in Guatemala City, and volunteered in Costa Rica with a Servant Leadership undergraduate course.

During his undergraduate career, Qoc’avib and his team from the American Marketing Association won the GFK Next Generation US Market Research national competition for studying the way Hispanics in the U.S. interpret the main stream media. In 2013, he was awarded the Hispanic Pioneer Award from the City of Aurora and also named Phenomenal Man of the Year by Boys 2 Men Inc.

Qoc’avib has completed degrees in Spanish, Business Administration, and Marketing from the University of Aurora in 4 and half years.
