Rebecca Carreno Galvan

Policy Analyst

Rebecca Carreno Galvan is a Policy Analyst for the Latino Policy Forum. She is responsible for research and data analysis that support the policy priorities of the Illinois Latino Agenda and Housing Acuerdo, which Rebecca also helps manage. Rebecca’s passion for data is fueled by her interest in policy and advocacy that leads to social justice for traditionally underrepresented communities.

Rebecca was born in Durango, México and came to the United States at the age of fourteen.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University with a double major in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish Literature- Composition. She earned her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration with a concentration in policy, data analysis, and program evaluation. Rebecca is a former Chicago Scholar and Bonner Scholar and recipient of the Posse Foundation Scholarship, DePauw’s Granito Fund, and Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Rebecca is also a member of the Lamda Alpha National Collegiate Honors Society for Anthropology.
