Forum Co-Founder, Longtime Board Member Named Deputy Governor of Pritzker Administration

The Latino Policy Forum would like to congratulate one of its co-founders, Sol Flores, a longtime Forum board member and Executive Director of La Casa Norte, for being named Deputy Governor in Governor JB Pritzker’s administration.

Sol has served the Forum for many years and in many different capacities including board chair and co-chair of the Forum’s Housing Acuerdo, which brings housing organizations from across Illinois together to develop and execute priorities and a common agenda around housing in the state. She has served as executive director of La Casa Norte for 16 years where the organization serves youth and families confronting homelessness by providing access to stable housing and deliver comprehensive services that act as a catalyst to transform lives and communities.

“It’s encouraging to see the new administration begin to execute on their promise of hiring government staff that represents and reflects the beautiful diversity of the state of Illinois. I know that having Sol’s voice at the table will be beneficial to Latinos and all Illinoisans, and I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish in making a better Illinois.”
